interested in alex uni anyone?
I am a medic student in alexandria, egypt 1st year.
As someone who's been there , done that I'm sure there are some lepasan spm or asasi considered to sambung studies here, also in egypt.
So I'm gonna tell a lil bit about the process and the life here.
The medic Program here is 6 years, so basically you can fly straight to egypt without any premed programs or foundation, or matriks or stpm, etc, etc. The 1st 3 years you'll be studying pre clinical, theory and exam based. And the latter 3 years it's clinical years, where you'd be doing more hands on work in hospitals and so on. I came here after finishing asasi so i was a year late in my batch. But lots of people came here after finishing asasi, there are a few people who is older than me because they finished their A levels first. So I'm gonna say that don't let this reason hold you back. Even if there are no one who's the same age as you I'm sure y'all gonna get along just fine.
We studied here according to systems instead of regions. So it'll be included in what we called modules. For instance, each year we'll be taking 6 modules. 3 in the first semester amd another 3 in the second semester. The first semester we took basic terminologies , nutrion and metabolism and introduction to medical sciences. Since it's exam oriented ( compared to mansoura it's PBL oriented) you must perform well in all your exams ( mid module/end module/practical/oral/assignment/final) but so far we don't have the oral exams yet. Out exams are based 100% on the books, but in lectures the lecturer will pinpoint the important parts ( because honestly, nobody could possibly cramp everything in one's head, well at least not me) so if you have an emergency or anything you could ask your friends, but of course that's not encouraged, sebab lebih bagus dgr dgn telinga sendiri kan dr lecturer, that way you won't misunderstood anything.
If you're not so much of a book person you could go to mansoura since it's PBL based. I'm not that much of a book person but im okay here. Ifor the scoring and grades, it's harder to get Mumtaz (excellent) in alex than in mansoura. If you fail (D) , you'll have to repeat during summer, you could bring it to the next year, but it's not adviced to do so. I guess that's all for the studying life here, next time I'll tell about the living life. Kalau ada soaln you could leave a comment and I'd reply asap. Byee

I came here with a more mature thinking than some who were younger than me , so if you're older than your batch, sometimes you have to deal with stupid little thing they'd do, but nevertheless just keep calm and hold on, it's a phase.
